This is a discussion on "New Rankings - A Small Victory." in the Top Mud Sites TMS Announcements and Feedback forum : The new rankings rolled over for the first time tonight. I was anxiously awaiting midnight but it seems to have rolled over ok. Here's the top 50 results from the end of the month, but keep in mind this only covers around the last 2 weeks: August 2007 - End Rankings The small victory? That damn trophy moves automatically now... |

New Rankings - A Small Victory.
The new rankings rolled over for the first time tonight. I was anxiously awaiting midnight but it seems to have rolled over ok.

Last month definitely will. We could also maintain the history going back each month. All kinds of ways to slice and dice the rankings now, they're in the forum database along with the MUD listings so we could auto-post results into the forum.
In theory we could even (optionally) PM each MUD owner with their results at the end of each reset ... just a case of deciding what to do then finding the time to actually do it. That would be pretty cool actually, a monthly email or PM, "Your rank was X, you received Y votes during the month, Z people viewed your MUD listing", etc. |

I don't necessarily think that the PM is necessary once you have the "Last Month's Rankings". People could look up their mud's rank easily then. It would be COOL if you did it, but if it takes a lot of extra man-hours, I think it wouldn't be necessary. Last but not least, congrats on making that little trophy move around on its own. It's just one less thing to worry about every month! |
