Explore the first venture from Raph Koster (Lead designer for Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, creator of Metaplace) and Rick Delashmit (Lead programmer of Ultima Online, Star Wars: Galaxies, Wombat Games, and lead developer of Arcane Legends). As long as mankind has been forming even the simplest of civilizations, powerful legends and myths have been built to help us live with the unexplainable. Imagine an entire world built to breathe life into dozens upon dozens of these amazing legends and myths from our past: now imagine walking those fabled lands and forging a legend of your own. Since 1994, Legend has regularly updated coding and added new areas to its tableau of rich landscapes, an altogether unique combat system, and a robust quest system. LegendMUD hosts over 60 individual but seamlessly interconnected areas within three historical eras, ranging from The Tokugawa Shogunate in Japan, Salem during the witch trials, The Faerie Courts of Ireland, The Epic of Gilgamesh in Sumer, Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest, Blackbeard's Pirate Tortuga, and dozens more. LegendMUD features a dynamic ‘classless’ skills system, an RP-encouraged environment, optional player-killing, free-forming clan system, customizable player housing, equipment customization, post level 50 ‘Era Abilities’, re-morting and dozens of other unique features and code. |
