Is the meaning of life really 42?

Doesn't it depend on what you want the meaning of life to be? I mean, if 42 is the answer, what's the question? And isn't this what's been troubling philosophers forever?

If a tree falls in the forest, and no one's around to hear it, does it still make a *ker-thunk* noise when it hits the ground?

does it matter? or in that case, would an animal about to be crushed by a tree hear it before his doom? would it matter if he heard it or not?

If a tree went *ker-thunk* on a deer, would the deer go *ka-squish* or would it make some other noise?

Doesn't it depend on the species and how close to the tree line it is?

I ask my question again, would the deer mind if the last sound was screech-splat or screech-ka-squish?

What if the deer prefered *ka-squish*?

And why can't the 'ka' and 'ker' be omitted? Do you hear 'ker' every time you hear 'pow'?

Why don't fingers fing?

Do they ger?

What if they don't do either?
