I dunno.. for 20-50 bucks maybe? Or maybe just to play the game? I realize its not exactly hitting the powerball, but it's something to do.

I don't see what he said as being rude. Hell. it's a game that's probably been online longer than you have, so what he said isn't close to some things that have been said about it over the years. Though, talk to any long-time veteran of mtrek(check out google groups alt.games.mtrek and go back about 10 yrs), and you'll find that there's been no text-based game that can hold a candle to the real time action you'll find there. Contest or no, it's a badass game worth learning how to play just for the sake of playing.
