I have a question to ask for advice on. Clandestine MUD recently re-opened its doors to the public and began advertising. I set up a voting account here 4-5 days ago, and have noticed things running pretty smoothly with nearly expected results. However, some players have come to me stating that they don't think that votes from their country are counting. They live in Estonia and have the server ".ee".
Ironically, about 20% of our playerbase comes from this small country and they are very zealot-like about voting, so it's a significant problem. Anyone have any ideas why this may be occuring? I have tested it with many of them myself, with the same results. The webpage refreshes, new votes get posted, everything is updated - but their votes did not get counted. Any advice would be helpful, and if Syno has any idea of if this is a problem he can fix(or I can fix), please let me know, Adam. Thanks! |
You sure the 10 minute refresh went by? That would be the only thing I could think of... if not...
|
Yeah, ten, twenty minutes went by for multiple voter attempts from Estonia - all the way up to like 6+ hours of curiousness. :-/

Firewall issue perhaps?

Hmm... I don't think so. The estonians I've tested with are computer savvy and would know if their firewall's settings were wrong.

I believe you're allowed only a single vote every 12 hours , so it could be that they've voted recently and its therefore not counting them. It would be really strange to learn that certain domains don't count towards the vote, especially from a country as well-connected as estonia is.

Oh, also I think the best way to get in touch with Adam is to email him: , as its not guaranteed that he reads all the forum posts.
