What are the versions? Which stock codebases can they be added to? I wasn't aware there were more than one choice for any particular codebase...
If I remember correctly, Ivan's OLC was for ROM, and Oasis was for Circle. Has this changed? Are they now a megacode which works on any? Where do I evaluate the features each has, and are there any comparison and contrasts between them? Traditionally, the higher version numbers represent better program output, with the notable exception of Zmud, which ceased to be worthwhile after 4.62... This is usually because the users of said program provide input and feedback to the programmer(s), who in turn focus their product on that feedback, creating something more user-desired in the next outbreak. I'm gathering from the "YAY" by 1.81 that the same is true for this OLC...? At any rate, I prefer the OLC we use, which began at some point in the past as whatever OLC it was that went into ROM. I do believe that Oasis' menu-driven system (IIRC) has some merit, as well. |

Rom24 Olc 1.81 is by far the best out of all that ivan has made, it has the least amount of bugs, and is the most commonly used in the Rom community. It also has the most technical support behind it, and the most snippets/bug fixes for it.
Not to mention its the most secure. But thats just my 2cents.. Anyways, good post ostoles... C-ya on the darkside. |
