Greetings!
The staff of Shadows of Isildur, led in this endeavour by the inimitable Falco, is extremely pleased to announce details of our upcoming Osgiliath Spring Fair HRPT (highly recommended playing time) to the mudding community. Our first-ever large-scale non-combat RPT, the Spring Fair will encompass loads of civilian-related activities over the course of the 4th of July weekend. Kicking off Friday evening with a ballroom dance held in the stately and ancient Star Dome, and a healthy dose of entertainers and crafting demonstrations afterward, we are anticipating a turnout of 100+ online to join us for the festivities! Place wagers on your favorite jockey in the Saturday morning horseraces - or better yet, be a jockey yourself! For the more martially-inclined, a gallant tournament-at-arms will will be held, with the last brave souls standing at the end of the tourney on Sunday receiving noble accolades and enviable prizes from their admiring peers. Morbid souls will be delighted to witness a good old-fashioned mediaeval-style hanging of a traitorous criminal, and the capitalists among you will no doubt feel right at home during the public auctions at which some of Gondor's finest craftspeople will be selling their unique wares to the highest bidders. Finally, there will be numerous performances of bardic entertainment and crafting demonstrations throughout the weekend, sure to help lift the average Gondorian's weary spirit during these dark and perilous times. So, if you're interested in excellent role-play generally, or Tolkien's Middle-earth in particular, but haven't yet checked us out - be sure to log in and get your character applications in soon! I would hazard a guess that any applications submitted beyond this Thursday evening or so will quite likely not be reviewed in time, due to the massive amount of work that is being undertaken to prepare for the festivities. Best of luck - and we hope to see you all there! An itinerary of the scheduled festivities is attached below. Enjoy. -- (Please note that all times are listed in Pacific Daylight Savings Time [PDT], which is three hours behind EDT, and seven hours behind GMT. Adjust for your own timezones accordingly. Also, the listed times mark the COMMENCEMENT of the given activities, not their conclusions.)
