Okay, so you are given two options on the activities in which you may partake during lunchtime. One of them is the potentially enriching experience of broadening your knowledge, reading comprehension, writing, and socialization skills over the internet on message boards like these. And the other is sitting with "so-called 'friends'" that "irritate the hell out of you" and provide nothing but meaningless conversation.
Sounds like the losers are the ones that do nothing during their lunch hours but have meaningless conversations =). Your topic description is another pet-peeve of mine. Your "life" is not defined as the sum of your social worth! That's utterly ridiculous. The term would be "social life", but even that is inaccurate because social interaction is not limited to wistful conversation and shallow interaction with peers. Going to parties may be "fun" to most people, but in the end I think you'll find that the losers are the ones who party all day ;). |
