Ladies and Gentlemen of TopMudSites,

I am thrillingly pleased to announce that as of this month, Avendar, the Crucible of Legends, is now 10 years of age! We launched ago on a dark and stormy night, as an unholy conclave of writers and coders brooded together over a simmering cauldron of stock ROM in a drafty tower garret...or so the legends speak.

To celebrate a decade of pure awesome, we are sponsoring a 24-hour event starting at 12PM EST on Sunday, January 27th (That's right! In just 2 short hours!), we will put all current characters on hold. Any new characters created will be automatically advanced to the maximum player rank of Hero (level 51). For these 24 hours, our rules will be somewhat relaxed and players may enjoy a spree of quests, (semi-)organized competitions, a worldwide frenzy of roleplaying, and intense combat!
