Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone.

I don't want to get too detailed, but i do want to birefly introduce myself to the community.

I am new both to the forums (i have been lurking,reading posts, but this will be my first) and MUDS in general. So far i have been playing or rather i should say i have played ( high school has started back up) Aaardwolf and i really liked it. So if anyone has any suggestions for others drop me a PM.

The reason i first got looked into what a MUD was was becuase i read The Blue Nowhere and that is how i was exposed to the very existence of MUDs. Now i hope to play them myself and have lots of fun.

P.S Any recommendation for a good (and free) MUDclient would be appreciated.

Hi,

If you liked Aardwolf, you may also enjoy Bedlam. It's a good intro to MUD's for many reasons, among which is the advanced (and free) w/ a real-time automap, mob & player icons, clickable actions, etc.

I'd recommend Mushclient (for Windows) and Mudlet (for anything else).

I'm constantly steered towards a free 3-D graphical game called Sherwood Dungeon, largely as an example of a business model for Eterena.

This is due to the sites use of Google Ads to generate revenue for the site, which enable's its operatior to not only maintain it but to live off of it.

Hello there Blackr3per!

If you are looking for a fully textual experience with serious roleplay as opposed to a Runescape style game you might try New Worlds Ateraan. I would suggest fully reading over the features and requirements however, as this is a serious RPG.

Considering you are still in high school you may be too young to play on NWA, but there are other MUDs I like as well: 4 Dimensions, Materia Magica, and God Wars II, to name a few that are all different in genre.

As for free clients, there is GMud, MUSH, and Vipmud which are all good.
