why do I feel that you dont get my point...you are explaining the same thing again
my point is that the coded things (which come from choosing a guild) limit your profession (is it doesnt match the guild). earlier when I used word profession I meant guild. |

Sadly, that's the same thing I've noticed and commented upon time and time again in response to others' responses regarding MUDs.
Someone will ask for a MUD with features A and B but not C and D. Inevitably what follows is a bunch of people who play MUDs that have C and D and not A and B posting about how they're just what you're looking for. In many cases, it's the same MUDs and same people. Chalk it up to ignorance, stupidity, zealousness, and desperation, but it happens over and over again that most of the "Searching for a MUD..." requests end with strings of MUDs that don't come close to matching the original poster's specifications. It's annoying, isn't it? Wish the moderators would trim out replies that ignore the content of the request but they don't. :-/ As far as I can tell, there are no MUDs which meet your criteria. Harshlands and SoI come close (and likely so too will another half-dozen or so MUDs in development) though SoI is high-fantasy it's not to the same degree as most MUDs, including Arm. The real key seems to be "unarmed" fighting. Fisticuffs is unarmed fighting. The other elements you refer to can be role-played and that's probably the best way to handle them. Code-specific aspects of combat are rarely accurate anyway (most people don't take multiple sword hits to their arm or leg and have the capability of serving as anything but a practice dummy from that point forward, yet MUD code lets them fight). And in the end, RPIs (though you may not mean those specifically) and RPEnc MUDs are far more than combat. Anyway, good luck with your search. Not sure how successful it'll be as I don't think there are any MUDs to meet your exact criteria but that doesn't mean there isn't/won't be one. Take care, Jason |
