Arion: the Nightmare is the second edition of original Arion which no longer exists. The first version of Arion came out in 2004. Since that much has changed in a good way of course. In Arion there are 5 sides: Blackies (Orc, Goblin, Demon, Troll), Whities (Elf, Dwarf, Human, Hobbit), Brownies (Nomad, Giant, Ssrathi, Formian), Misties (Ghost) and Fallens (Drow, Gollum, Fallen, Dark Dwarf). These sides can do pk with each other. The main goal of a player here is to advance in levels until he or she is great enough to slay enemy heroes. Then the real fun begins. Arion is an innovative player kill encouraged MUD. There are all capabilities for role play as it makes the environment more natural. We like realism, we hide no brutality. The hardship is nightmare but in a good way - no pain, no gain. Arion's player kill highly supports one's mudding skill - there are a lot of different strategies how to bring your enemy down. Also, we like it if the game is convenient to play so that all the necessary programming is always done for the mudding here to be as easy as possible. You can play Arion in IRONMAN mode - You will gain 2x exp but if you happen to die it will be permanent. If an ironman character becomes a hero (level 51) and it dies then it will become a Ghost which is the only way to get a ghost. Finally, Arion will be an ultimate MUD where magic and realism work together mixed with humor and fun. We like it if the game allows the player to do things it can do in real life and it is our main condition in development. Secondly, we try to avoid making any rules and punishments because we believe that it is possible to make the system so good that the count of rules would be minimal. |
