| MUD1/British Legends is an accurate reconstruction of the world's first Multi-User Dungeon. Created in 1978, MUD first became popular in the United Kingdom. In the mid 1980s, it was licensed by CompuServe where it ran under the name British Legends until 1999 and gained many a fan from North America and elsewhere. The present version is a high-fidelity port from the obsolete DECSystem-10 mainframe computer platform to a modern Internet environment. The original game's features, even some of its charming bugs and quirks have been reproduced to every possible detail. But make no mistake, MUD is not just "retro-gaming"; it is a living classic that provides many hours of enjoyment to its players every day. |
