Areth - MUD Description | |
Areth MUD is definitely a world unto itself. What will probably stand out the most is that there is no immortal interference on players' behalves. While on many muds immortals spell up players or give them items, play favorites, etc... Areth immortals are forbidden to materially aid players (unless of course there's a code glitch involved). This means that when someone makes it to Master level, everyone knows they did it on their own merit. There are presently 9 active classes, with 11 planned. 15 races, both traditional fantasy types (elf, dwarf, dragon, drow, etc) and more unusual ones (Predator, Kzinti, Klingon, Protoss). The recently-designed areas also feature extensive mobprog interaction with numerous mini-quests, and what many players have called the best mudschool they've seen. If you log in however, you'll probably note that there aren't many players on. The problem with having a mud which mostly gets played by college students is that when they aren't at school in computer labs, usually they're not on the mud. The good news is that this is pretty easy to fix - just keep playing, more people will show up. |
