D&D 3.5e Meets Dragonlance
Age of Legends: Tales of the Lance is opening the doors to it's d20 project for all beta testers. The game is still in heavy development but we have enough content now to maintain a playerbase in a fairly stable environment. We've gotten past the balancing issues are are now at the point where we simply need to finish adding the rest of the d20 skills, spells and classes. So while we are still technically in a beta testing status, we are not going to be doing a pwipe at the end of the beta phase.
We're a role play encouraged MUD, or more along the lines of role play expected. People who haven't role played before but would be interested in learning are more than welcome as well. Those who don't role play won't be punished, as we don't enforce role play, as long as they aren't disrupting the role play of others. However they will probably miss out on most imm run events and quests that are role play related. Here's some of the features our d20 codebase provides: -Enjoy a true D&D 3.5e system, as close to the tabletop as you can get on a mud. -Play 7 classes: barbarians, clerics, monks, paladins, fighters, rogues and wizards. -Achieve 5 prestige classes: dwarven defender, duelist, knight of the crown, sword and rose. More prestige classes to come on a monthly basis. -Play as one of 25 different standard races with the chance to play as advanced races. -Take advantage of our game account system to store all of your role playing and account bonuses in one place to share between your characters. -Choose from over 100 different feats and class abilities. -Converse in 15 different spoken languages -Use our blackmarket system to buy and sell stolen goods and items other shopkeepers are just too afraid to keep -Every mob has a chance to offer something special with our random treasure system -Wizards use spellbooks to store their spells and spellcasters use spell memorization to prepare their daily spells. -We have an intro system and a dynamic short description system that does not require imm approval to play -Enjoy tabletop gaming systems like dice rollers and skill test rollers to enhance your role play, staff run quests, and the tabletop feel of the game. -Utilize spell research libraries for mages to learn new spells either when they level or by paying gold. -Experience the thrill of a fully functional pulse based D&D combat system. We have plans to change this to a turn based system in the future. -Buy your own mounts and call it whenever you need it. -Enjoy animal companions, familiars and pets that level up as you do. -Enjoy skills, abilities and spells that for the most part work just as they would in table top, whenever possible. -Ascii Automap for easier navigation -Autoconsider system to save you time when levelling. -And of course we have many more intricate details that fill in the spaces of our game system.
