A little bit off-topic but maybe relevant to some people. A small part of my exam thesis included writing an update solution for java software.
For this i wrote a small API that can be integrated into any java application and allows it to automatically update itself from a webserver when it is started to keep up2date. (There are some advantages over using java web start for example). The API is free to use and available at including install instructions and tutorials. Feel free to use it and please submit any bugs and other errors you may find. |

I do not think I have made any platform dependant code in the API so it should be supported by anything that runs with Java.
