Re: Posers
Dude, poser is so totally 80s! How can you say that's more modern?? I remember skaters calling each other posers all day long. You can't watch a Powell Peralta video without it!
Old school. You need to learn some more 31337 and hip verancular! |

Re: Posers
SIGH... they're a skate boarding company that used to release these insane videos of people doing 720s on half-pipes and such. I think Tony Hawk skated for them for a while. While in the process of becoming a gaming geek, I took a detour and studied the habits of the "skater". Hrm, come to think of it, I would be what the skaters called a "poser"... couldn't skate a lick!

Actually, you all have it wrong. The new elite, is typing out the actual words and attempting to spell them correctly. That's right, boys and girls - we're moving forward to the past! Next: "Books - Text On Paper; The Newest Craze!"

Re: Posers
*chuckle* Sounds like this should be on the Book and the Movie thread. Either way, I feel i'm losing touch with sporting the lingo. I think I'll just turn to you or Mina for lite-speak (pronounced LEET-SPEAK, a phrase I learned from a 13 year old punk next door).

Re: Posers
Yeah it was way worse four or five years ago when I first started reading the forums here. I remember so many flame wars..
I tend to call them trolls or flamers. But I try to keep in mind at one point I used to like to joke around a bit and do what is called trolling. So I try not to get to upset with trolls that are just goofing off. I greatly dislike people who fan the flames and evil bridge trolls though. |

Re: Posers
Bridge Troll? Is that someone who splits a topic to bridge it to something else?

Nah, was just trying to slip some fantasy reference in with my post about trolls.

Re: Posers
Well, a regular troll just sort of lumbers around, smells bad and so on, but a bridge troll actively prevents the flow of traffic (in this case, information). So regular trolls are annoying but you can probably ignore them, but evil bridge trolls do their best to make sure the conversation can't continue to fulfil a useful purpose.
... yes, I just made that up. |

Re: Posers
Look at me... LOOK AT ME!
A true poser (or troll) would link something like and not care. Oh look, I just did and I don't care. Tricky |

Re: Posers
Hmm, interesting link. Is it considered bad form to follow or check out a link a Poser posts? Is it like slowing down to look at an accident?
