Re: IRE Facebook Application
Yeah that is really sweet. We were just (today) discussing some facebook integration ourselves And perhaps allowing stuff to be sent through our clients.

Yeah, it was pretty easy to set up. Well, I had someone else do it, maybe that is why it was so easy. But it only took a day for them to have it up and running.

Nice feature that looks really good.
I hope it doesn't do one of those lame forced recommendation things (ie, to install you have to send invites to others) though. God, I want to rip the limbs off people who design those kind of applications. Never hurts. |

Re: IRE Facebook Application
Hmmmm, nice idea, but careful it doesn't backfire. Facebook is a conduit to inform contacts of what's going on. User actions show up in all their friends' newsfeeds. On Facebook a typical user has 250 contacts, but very few of them are actually 'good' friends.
In my experience, users are quite sensitive about what they send to their friends - nobody wants to be a spammer. Time will tell whether MUD achievements with the URL embedded will be seen as achaeae spam. On the other hand, if it works, then genius; leveraging social sites such as this is every online marketeer's #1 goal. If nothing else you'll backlinks, which are always useful. |

By the gods, if we did that I would have to rip off my own limbs.
