Any excuse for a party, so since Mud Magic made us their site of the month yesterday, we've got double exp on for a couple of days at wotmud.org. It'll be on until wednesday evening, if you've ever wanted to give the place a shot now might be a good time to level your newbie =).

So, I was looking at this double exp thing, and I came across this note in their forums:
From: Nass "If you guys can finish in the top 5 when the vote gets counted then we can do double exp again..." The link to the forum topic is . Isn't this the sort of stuff we aren't allowed to do? It's not rewarding a specific person for voting, but it certainly seems like a reward for voting. Belakai |

Wrong website =) MudMagic doesn't have any restrictions to getting people to vote. You can cojole, bribe, entice, threaten, plead, beg, to get votes. The voters IP is provided (but not their login name) in that games admin panel - so game admins will link the IP to ingame rewards / notices. All perfectly fine. The website code that operates the voting handles the would-be cheating , and for rates there's a ban system operated by game owners to keep cross-biased voting down. If your players are willing to take the time to get your game noticed, that's a definate bonus to them. SO - in game reward them based on their IP, shower them with praises, thank them greatly, because they're getting you more recognition in the end. (just make sure to ask them not to try voting down another game - becase we catch 'em every time)

I'm confused, that thread talks about mudconnector in the first post, but then in that same post has a link to vote here...
It goes on to talk about being 4th, which they are here, and not in the top 10 on TMC or MudMagic... |

Right, I was more referring to the fact that regardless of what website they are using in the text, the link is to this site and voting here.

In that case, you're using the wrong reference for this TMS post. The message on the WotMud forum that went with this initial thread is ( contains only a url to their stats page on mudmagic ) that was posted just the day prior; and not which was posted just the other day and makes no reference in the initial post about getting bonus exp for the MudMagic rrecognition.

Ah, nevermind, I just saw this on the thread: for the WotMud site which according to the post above, used to state that double exp would be available again. Looks like it's been changed now though.
