Just a quick note for Aardwolf players wondering why the MUD is down - we are based in Orlando, Florida and got took a direct hit from Hurricane Charley last night. The hardware itself is fine, and so are we, but we are completely without power. Progress Energy's current estimates for power restoration are best case - 3 days, worst case - 7 days. We don't have a generator but even if we did nowhere in the city has fuel either.
I will not have net access until the power comes back on so would appreciate if someone would keep bouncing this so it stays on the front page and players are notified (sorry for the spam everyone else). Would also appreciate if someone would cross-post this to TMC. We'll be back as soon as possible, sorry for the inconvenience. |

Thanks for letting us all know you are safe and have survived the wrath of Charley.
Good luck getting everything back online. Also, here's another bump to help keep your thread in a position to be noticed by your players. Take care, |

I'm so glad to hear that you're all OK, reports in the media about how bad it was, made me a bit scared. Good to learn that you're fine.
See you online later. Aerianne |

Mother nature unleashed some wrath on ya'll worshippers of false gods, eh? Hopefully you'll be able to bring everything back up better than before.
As an aside though, how did you get internet access amid all the post-hurricane turmoil? I'm curious from a disaster-recovery perspective. |

Or perhaps a laptop with some power and a working phone line (and i guess an out-of-area ISP).

He quite possibly had a cell phone and used that to call someone who doesn't live in the area and dictated his post.
Hope everyone who lives in the areas that were affected are alright. |
