Dynamic shard rate
's newest feature is enhancing our shard rate to be dynamic instead of a static amount.
From the helpfile: "Shard rate" is a term used to describe how often shikon shards can be found in the world. The higher the shard rate, the more common shards will be across both time eras. Shards can be found on the floor in rooms (sometimes hidden or buried) or being used by NPCs to make them more powerful. The shard rate increases as more players sign on and are playing. The more players online at once, the higher the rate will be. The boosted rate will last around an hour if the number of players online does not increase. Then the rate will be recalculated based on the number of players online. If no players are online the rate will be at the normal 100%. The rate can be viewed by typing WHO. If more players sign on and is a higher max compared to the last hour, the boosted shard rate time will extend and will last about an hour from that time. So not only will this create an environment for players to be more likely to find a shard but it also helps balance the number of shards in the world say if there are 20 players on looking for shards. We are also working on a new class which should be released in the near future. Stay tuned or read our forums for more details. biyg.org 1801 |
