Hi Hi and Hiya!
Hello,
I'd like to introduce myself to you guys. I'm MG and I recently grew very disillusioned with graphical MMORPGs as of late. I just couldn't deal with immature community and pay the monthly fees for little content anymore. That's where MUDs came in and I find it to be very fascinating experience, although I have yet to find one that I can stick with for duration of time. However, in my brief experience with MUDs, I find the people to be very helpful and friendly to me whenever I ask for help or get stuck on something. So that's pretty cool for me to experience that kind of atmosphere, whereas I would be poking fun or never get any help at all in graphical MMORPGs which can be very discouraged. But roleplaying seems to be bit of a daunting task to me because I'm not fluid or natural at it so I try to avoid MUDs that heavily emphasized on this trait. It's just hard for me to be different person whenever I'm playing so it's challenging. However, I find MUDs to be very stimulating and vibrant than graphical MMORPGs, which is always awesome. Been lurker a while so I enjoy read the posts on this forum. Hope to see you guys around! Maybe I'll see you in the world of MUD game. XD |

Welcome, Welcome, and Welcome!!!
I like your reasons for turning to the text games. Good move. While NWA is heavily Roleplay, I think our envjironment, staff, and guides lend to a good first Roleplay MUD for you to try. Certainly overwhelming support if you need it. And hell, just play yourself a shogun warrior eh? |

Thanks for warm welcoming. I truly appreciated it a lot. Maybe I will give NWA a try. It certainly can't hurt to try it, can it? Maybe I shall be shogun in NWA, lol.

Re: Hi Hi and Hiya!
Hello,
You might want to look into an RP encouraged, or RP optional mud to start out, and if you feel that you need more RP go to some thing more intense later. |

Thanks for such nice compliment. I'm firm believer that one shouldn't take himself so seriously. It's all about having fun and get along well with other people. Still looking for that MUD but I'm not giving up yet.

Re: Hi Hi and Hiya!
Hi, and welcome on board!
If you're new to MUDs, you may want to have a look at our game, Arctic, and explore the world of Dragonlance from the inside. Arctic doesn't require roleplaying and you will not see very much of it. The life of our MUD revolves around various forms of CHALLENGE. You will not find the locations of treasure groves and the solutions to our quests on the internet, you will have to explore the world and solve the puzzles yourself. You will not be able to have a "perfect" set of equipment, since all the items are limited and their owners wouldn part with their favourite shinies any more willingly than the dragons that stored them originally in their treasure hoards. It is rumoured that some of our treasure cashes have never been explored and still wait for a brave adventurer to solve their mystery. However, in the eyes of many players, Arctic is defined not by the intricate game world, but by unrestricted pkill. Any time, any place, and for any reason! No reason is a perfectly valid reason, too! On the other hand, most of our players are friendly to newbies and will gladly share with you their knowledge or maybe some cash and basic equipment. Our newbie training zone is excellent, too! Just one thing to remember: your challenge starts from the very first minute of the game, you're not immune to pkill and will never be. Become a deadly pkiller yourself if you like it or learn to avoid it if your interests are elsewhere, the choice is yours. Good luck! You'll need it! Nasredin |

Welcome to TMS!! Glad to have you here, and I'm hoping you'll find the content in MUDs that are missing in a lot of the MMOs. Have fun and good luck!
